I believe it's difficult for most of us living in the United States to imagine what it's like to be a refugee fleeing violence. Some may have experience with this - maybe even you - but most Americans have been shielded from the terrors of war, even when we were fighting our own battles.
As you now know, there is great suffering throughout all the world and an especially urgent need for those in Ukraine. Even now, people are fleeing the country. Parents, brothers, sisters, daughters....children, searching for peace and safety.
HOW THE "GIVE BACK" CAMPAIGN STARTED
Dr. Hansen and I have lived quite the life. Without hesitation, I can say that we have been shown how to give back from the kindness and example of others. From our youth, we both had parents who worked hard and served the people in their communities. They served us too, and taught us how to see the best in others.
As a newly married couple and especially when our little ones came during college years, we struggled financially and were often given gifts of kindness, service and charity. Chronic health problems and other difficulties increased our burdens, and often generous gifts were bestowed anonymously.
Throughout our lives, we have been overwhelmed by the love and kindness of those around us, and we believe in paying it forward. That's why every year, we commemorate the benevolence of others through an annual GIVE "BACK" Campaign.
A CORE PILLAR
When we opened Restoration Chiropractic, it was decided that giving back would be one of our core pillars. The verbiage made sense; to give "BACK" is what Chiropractors do best! But it has always been more than that. It's been about YOU. Why? Because we know that those who give, receive. We've actually tested this theory ourselves, and I can say without reservation that it's a law of the universe.
The more you give, the more you receive.
That, along with the warm fuzzies you'll receive (and who doesn't love warm fuzzies?) is why our community urges you to give "BACK" with us to the people of Ukraine during the month of April, 2022.
